Special Meeting Minutes of the March 15, 2005 meeting of the Historical Area commission (HAC) held in the New Castle Town Hall at 2nd & Delaware Streets, New Castle, Delaware. Present at roll call were: Mr. Douglas Heckrotte The Acting Chair, Mrs. Monigle, called the special meeting of the Historic Area Commission for the City of New Castle to order at 4:30 p.m. and the roll was called. OLD APPLICATIONS: M. Hemphill 114 The Strand Disposition: Ms. Miller: We do not approve the windows and we want them replaced with wood windows and want compliance with the litany as previously approved. Mr. Heckrotte: I would add to that motion that we get the details that we have not yet seen, the trim details, the chimney cap updated, hardware, downspouts, gutters, and driveway details etc. Action: APPROVED F. Dressler 137 E. 2nd St. Disposition: Mr. Heckrotte: I move we vote on today’s presentation as follows; that the basic plan layout is approved as it was previously. That the site plan which is now included on the drawings, is acceptable. We do no approve the bump for the stairwell and we wish to see some better solution. We would like to see the following details of the drawing corrected, that the window trim be drawn correctly as appropriate for the house (with 5 ¼ x 4” casing and a proper window sill not the 6” trim). That the details on the old house eaves be replicated. We note that the dormer cheeks are to wide and that dormer be more appropriate to this house be drawn on this plan. That the chimney size be reduced in horizontal dimension to the maximum extent appropriate for a masonry chimney. We want to see detail of the railings and mutton in the rear French doors and that they are French doors and not sliding doors. Shutters on all street front windows.
