Minutes of the meeting of the New Castle City Planning commission held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2001 at the Town Hall, 2nd floor. Members Present: Chairman Stan Sykora Mr. Henry Herndon Mr. James Steele Mr. Virgil Irick Ms. Beth Matkins Ms. Jane Miller Mr. Clay Bridgewater –Absent Mr. Charles Cobb – Absent Mr. William Cramer – Absent Others Present: Mr. Joseph DiAngelo Mr. David June Chairman Sykora called the meeting to order and the roll was called. 1. Review of zoning classification of Soda Town property. 2. An update of Planning Consultant hiring process UPDATE OF PLANNING CONSULTANT HIRING PROCESS Mr. Sykora stated that there was three Planners interviewed; Redman Johnson; Angelo Roberto and Kise, Straw & Kolodner. One final meeting is scheduled for January 3, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. and they are going to bring with them their contracts. We should be able to select a Planner after that meeting. REVIEW OF ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF SODA TOWN PROPERTY After a lengthy discussion among member, Ms. Matkins made a motion to table this rezoning and further stated that we need additional information and a formal presentation by the landowner in order to comprehensively look at this and adjourning properties. And also a statement from the City Solicitor as to when the Comprehensive Plan will be amended and reflect prior planning recommendations for zoning so that we can go back and revisit it based on sound zoning.
